Beatriz Pena is an amazing single mom of two, an inspirational speaker, writer and survivor of domestic violence and hoarding. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to parents that both struggled with addiction. Her mom was also a person that hoards, compounding the troubles in her childhood.
Hoarding was a huge problem while growing up and this experience still affects her today. It isn’t something one really gets over – you just learn to work through it and move forward.
This experience also gives her a huge heart in working with people in all aspects of what she does, from admin work to helping people reclaim their space, Beatriz is focused on helping people have hope again.
Join us as we talk about living in NYC in a clean & clutter free space, yet facing the very real struggle of living in a tenement home surrounded by residents that hoard. Hoarding often leads to pest infestations such as rodents, roach and bed bugs and its a huge problem for folks living in the building.
In her work now she aspires to support victims of similar trauma by sharing her experiences with others through literature, speaking engagements and online platforms.
